Has there ever been an outside group with such long lasting influence as the Lincoln Project? Swift Boaters sunk Kerry, but that was a quick hit just a few months out from the election.OPK wrote: ↑October 24th, 2020, 1:12 pmSpeaking of the Lincoln Project and rats:Wander wrote: ↑October 24th, 2020, 12:26 pmAlso saw Jared and Ivanka threatening to sue the Lincoln Project over some billboards. The rats are panicking, some are trying to give the appearance of leaving the ship.
Dobbs is a laughable joke of a reporter, but I won't lose sleep if it help gets Graham out. Every single person who has supported Trump is permanently disqualified from public office in my mind.

Re: Trump Vs Biden --- The Election Thread
It is a significant task to take down an incumbent elected President. It has only happened three times since 1912, and one of those times was 88 years ago.
It was another big mistake to go to the Villages yesterday. It wasn't that large of a crowd, and holding a super-spreader event among a bunch of old fogeys is only going to motivate the oldsters in Florida against him, not those already for him.

Just saw an article about this. The Lincoln Project response channels General McAuliffe at Bastogne: "NUTS".
My only question: Why is The Lincoln Project wasting money on billboards in NYC?

It’s nothing less than CRIMINAL to do these rallies and be saying that “we are turning the corner”. CRIMINAL. Such behavior is unacceptable. How do we accept this as a society? It’s fucking mind blowing.dudog wrote: ↑October 24th, 2020, 1:58 pmIt is a significant task to take down an incumbent elected President. Re: Trump Vs Biden --- The Election Thread
I agree that billboards in Times Square are largely preaching to the choir. But the fact that we are talking about it proves that it generated a lot of buzz, which was the goal. And there is a certain level of embarrassment for them to have this in their backyard. Also, given the sharp drop in the number of people who travel through Times Square on a given day, I'm guessing the cost of billboards there is not what it was a year ago. We New Yorkers try to stay as far away as possible - I worked there for a few years and it was a nightmare fighting through the crowds of tourists, especially when heading home.
Re: Trump Vs Biden --- The Election Thread
I think the Lincoln Project is largely aimed at angering Trump and his sycophants and baiting them into stupid moves. For example, this billboard is now nationally known because of Jared/Ivanka whining about it. If they actually DO try and sue, that will result in all sorts of horrible, evil acts committed by them related to the billboard issue getting into court records.

Well golly gee, Gomer, how could such shenanigans happen under such watchful eyes?

I haven't seen any follow-up on everyone who got sick from the super spreader event a few weeks ago. I know Christie was in the hospital for a bit but it seems like everyone else had extremely mild cases. Not that I am wishing ill on anyone, but you would think that someone would have had some complications - I know that for most of them they caught it very early but the whole thing just seems odd to me. But that also describes the entire Trump presidency.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑October 24th, 2020, 11:47 pmWell golly gee, Gomer, how could such shenanigans happen under such watchful eyes?

That’s my take on them as well. I think they’re pretty effective at that, which is super fun to watch.Wander wrote: ↑October 24th, 2020, 7:58 pmI think the Lincoln Project is largely aimed at angering Trump and his sycophants and baiting them into stupid moves. Good points, keep people talking, keep Trump family riled up. I somehow forgot we're in the Internet Age, that the only people that see the Burma Shave signs are not just the people driving by them. After all, that's how I saw them. Doh!

Re: Trump Vs Biden --- The Election Thread
Trump has been on a total rally tear of late. He was in FOUR states yesterday alone! I don't know how much actual affect they will have on his election results, but each rally of course gets both local and national coverage. Thankfully, some of that national coverage is solely dedicated to pointing out that he doesn't offer a shred of truth in anything he says.
More concerning? Every rally is a large event, populated by people that think that masks are stupid. The folks behind him are often wearing them, but that is just for optics. I can guarantee you if the camera swung the other direction, they'd be few and far between. Consequences will be coming within the next few weeks, and they won't be related to who won the election.

Can't wait for Trump to continue this tit for tat with Sacha Baron Cohen over the next 9 days.
"Donald — I appreciate the free publicity for Borat!" he wrote. "I admit, I don’t find you funny either. But yet the whole world laughs at you. I’m always looking for people to play racist buffoons, and you’ll need a job after Jan. 20. Let’s talk!"
The OANN reporter also took Borat's "daughter" into the White House! (clip included)

Dallas Morning News poll has Biden +3 in Texas. CBS News has Biden +4 in North Carolina and +2 in Florida. Georgia is a tie.

Agree, though I’d add a friendly amendment that if Trump loses any of Texas, Fla, NC, Ga, it’s over.Bob Green wrote: ↑October 25th, 2020, 11:28 amDallas Morning News poll has Biden +3 in Texas. CBS News has Biden +4 in North Carolina and +2 in Florida. Georgia is a tie.

I sense that Trump’s plan/hope is to eek out wins in those states, plus Iowa and Ohio. Then keep it close enough to challenge ballots in Pa, then have Republican state legislature there submit “alternate electors.”
Re: Trump Vs Biden --- The Election Thread
Ah, but The Trafalgar Group has Trump winning Michigan by 3 (the average of the rest of the Michigan polls is Joe +7.6).
That does it, I'm starting a polling firm. Can I start with y'all?

Put myself through the torture of watching some of 60 Minutes interview in an effort to be informed. What a pathetic, deranged excuse for a human being (Trump I mean, but also maybe me for sitting through it?).

This is a fascinating behind the scenes look at how the Trump campaign tried to get the Wall Street Journal to save the day by publishing the BS Hunter Biden laptop story. And how the campaign was told thanks but no thanks.
