What’s the dirt on the new season? Will it be starting as planned?

The NFL has cancelled the Hall of Fame game. As we inch closer to both pro and college seasons, I'm putting the chance of either being played (or starting on time) at 0.1%.

Re: Football Off Season discussion
The BIg Whatever has announced a conference only schedule for all Fall sports. I've got little doubt that other conferences follow suit quickly.
If the ACC makes that move, Duke's first game will be Sep 26th.

I believe they will change the schedule if we go to conference games only so everyone starts the same week.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑July 9th, 2020, 4:34 pmIf the ACC makes that move, Duke's first game will be Sep 26th.

Cutcliffe isn’t in favor of this (conference games only).

Do we think the Ivy League decision will impact us? I heard an interview this morning that indicated that they’re the first domino.

Re: Football Off Season discussion
The PAC 12 have also moved to a conference only schedule. I am 100% positive that the ACC will follow, with about an 83% confidence that no football will be played in the Fall.ArkieDukie wrote: ↑July 11th, 2020, 6:45 pmDo we think the Ivy League decision will impact us? I'm also 100% confident that fans won't be in attendance of any Duke sporting events until next year. Whether that's the Spring of 2021 or the Fall, I don't know.

ESPN has an article on "The Top Under-The-Radar" players. A good chunk of the article is behind a paywall, but lots of paragraphs are visible, and they are all about Chris Rumph II.

We just got thinner at already thin defensive tackle. Elijiah Brown has entered the transfer portal.

Re: Football Off Season discussion
If you Google the Duke football schedule, Elon is now listed as postponed. This is of course due to their conference canceling fall sports. They were said to have been given the option to still play individual games, no idea what Elon's plans are in that regard.

My WAG at what is going to happen: a conference games only schedule played with no fans in the stands. That’s the best case scenario.
