Wide receiver Jarett Garner (6'3" 186) has committed to Duke. He is from Harrisburg, NC. Per Steve Wiseman, on Twitter, Garner also had offers from Louisville, Charlotte, ECU and Wake Forest.

This is the third WR commit in the class.

Make it three! Cornerback Nate Thompson from Sanford, NC (Southern Lee HS). He has great size at 6'2" 186 per ESPN and is rated 3 stars. Large cornerbacks do not grow on trees.

ESPN300 4* cornerback Taiyon Palmer has rescinded his verbal commitment to Duke. Hopefully he is the only one who bolts. This is unfortunate but it happens all the time in football. Time for the staff to go get another recruit.

Today is Early Signing Day. If we have any surprises, hopefully they are good surprises.

All 15 NLIs were received this morning. No surprises. Jim Sumner has his football notes from Coach Cutcliffe's press conference up on DBR and Cut says Duke is still looking at a couple potential recruits in the secondary and offensive line. National Signing Day remains the first Wednesday in February so any additions to the class will sign on February 7.

National Signing Day (February 7) is six weeks from today. I really hope last night's Quick Lane Bowl victory influences a couple undecided recruits to commit to Duke. I know the staff will be working hard at it.
