Duke at NC State

I watched State in their game against Virginia and was not really impressed. The Wolfpack seemed disorganized on offense so I believe the key to success on Sunday afternoon will be our defensive performance. If we crank up the pressure and disrupt their flow, they will crack.

For us on offense, value the basketball and play inside - out. Big Jah needs to touch the ball every time we are in a half court set.

State isn't going to roll over so this will be another tough ACC road game; however, in the end, we will have too much talent.

I'm interested to see what plan K will have for the 2 defenders Jah will see constantly on his back (and arms and hips and shoulders and...).

State CAN play very well. They were basically tied at the half with UVA, and it was not until the last couple minutes that the game got away from them. That game was played in Charlottesville; Duke will be facing the same tough team against a home crowd. We need to come out strong and stay that way throughout the game.

I think this will be a competitive game in a rowdy environment. Though, NC State is not nearly as good as they were last year. Losing TJ Warren has hurt them even more than I thought it would. They don't have a go-to guy on offense and Cat Barber has really struggled running the offense for them this year. I've watched 7 or 8 of their games and they have not impressed me much at all. Lacy has been a good scorer, but they don't have much support around him. State's only chance is if Ralston Turner gets hot and hits 5 or 6 threes (which he is capable of). Duke is more talented at every position and there is no excuse for them not to win.

The one thing that State can do is throw a lot of big guys at Jah. Jah really struggled on Tuesday, and State will play similarly to Wake on the defensive end. State has 4 big men that they will put on Jahlil for 40 minutes. We will see how he bounces back after his worst game of the young season.

I think State will fight, but Duke wins this game by 12.

D did not stand for DEFENSE, today.

In Coach K's remarks, he said post game......... there was no defense.

The guys never saw it coming. Bless their hearts. Still proud of the way they all represented us. And at least Coach didn't take his starters and run for cover near the end.
