EuroLeague Women got in a round of games before their holiday break, starting with games on Wednesday. In Group A, Bourges of France went to Slovakia and beat Good Angels Kosice 77-61. In the win, ex-DII player Johannah Leedham had 23 points and 8 rebounds and ex-George Washington player Cathy Joens had 16 points while ex-Texas Tech player Plenette Pierson had 18 points in the loss. In Group C, Turkey's Galatasaray went to Lithuania and continued to bring Kibirkstis back to reality with a decisive 90-39 win. The win was fueled by WNBA experience as Shavonte Zellous had 17 points and 8 rebounds, Nevriye Yilmaz had 16 points and 7 assists, and Sancho Lyttle had 14 points and 9 rebounds.

In Group B, Turkey's Fenerbahce went to the Czech Republic and beat Imos Brno 68-60. The stars on the team continued to establish their rhythm as Angel McCoughtry had 14 points and 6 rebounds and Cappie Pondexter had 13 points. Rookie Danielle Hamilton-Carter from Georgia Tech had 10 points and 7 rebounds in the loss. Poland's Wisla Krakow went to France and held on to a 74-72 win over Lattes Montpellier. In the win, ex-Ohio State player Jantel Lavender had 16 points and 13 rebounds and ex-Kansas player Danielle McCray had 15 points while ex-Arkansas player Shameka Christon had 16 points in the loss. Hungary's Sopron went to Spain and beat Rivas Ecopolis 65-60 to complete a sweep for the road teams as rookie Tianna Hawkins from Maryland had 12 points.

The other games were on Thursday. Action started in Group A, where Kayseri of Turkey went to Hungary and beat Gyor 88-65. In the win, ex-WNBA player Nuria Martinez had 17 points and 6 assists and ex-Richmond player Mirna Mazic had 14 points and 9 rebounds with the ex-UNC duo chipping in as LaToya Pringle, also known by the Turkish version of her married name, Lara Sanders, had 14 points and Camille Little had 10 points and 6 rebounds. In the loss, ex-Gonzaga player Courtney Vandersloot had 24 points and 6 rebounds and rookie Joslyn Tinkle from Stanford had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Russia's Ekaterinburg went to Italy with its collection of stars and beat Beretta Famila 73-66. In the win, Sandrine Gruda had 13 points, Ewelina Kobryn had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Candace Parker and Ann Wauters had 11 points each. WNBA experience also led the effort in the loss as Laura Macchi and Raffaella Masciadri had 14 points each. In Group C, Russia's Spartak Moscow escaped Croatia with a 68-64 win over Novi Zagreb. In the win, ex-WNBA player Sonja Petrovic had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The EuroChallenge finished its first stage on Tuesday. In Group A, Belgium's Antwerp Giants edged past Rakvere Tarvas of Estonia 78-73 at home. In the loss, ex-Eastern Illinois player Henry Domercant had 15 points and Cenk Akyol, the 59th pick of the Atlanta Hawks in 2005, had 12 points. In Group D, a game that did affect group placement took place in Spain, where Caja Laboral Baskonia took control of the fourth quarter to beat Russia's Lokomotiv Kuban 84-71. In the win, ex-St. John's player Lamont Hamilton had 14 points and ex-NBA player Andres Nocioni had 11 points while ex-UConn player Marcus Williams had 19 points in the loss. Action for 2013 closed with a meaningless Group B game where Strasbourg exited the competition with a 76-67 win over Italy's Emporio Armani Milan in front of the home fans in France. In the win, ex-Notre Dame player Tim Abromaitis had 23 points and ex-Buffalo player Louis Campbell had 11 points while ex-Baylor player Curtis Jerrells had 17 points in the loss.

On Monday, Paris-Levallois finished the game that was stopped because of the fight involving Daniel Ewing. Nothing happened in the final 8 seconds, but the game is now finally official.

On Tuesday, the first game of the second stage of the EuroCup took place. In this round, the 24 teams that qualified from the first round and the 8 teams recently eliminated from EuroLeague play are split into 8 groups of 4 teams. If the opening game in Group I was any indicator of the rest of this phase, the tournament should be exciting. The game in France went into two overtime periods before Nanterre held off Cantu of Italy 88-84. In the win, Sergii Gladyr, the 49th pick of the Atlanta Hawks in 2009, had 30 points as he was helped by two former Ohio State players as David Lighty had 12 points and Deshaun Thomas, who was also the 58th pick in the last draft by the San Antonio Spurs, had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Although it was not a full week of EuroLeague Women games, Wednesday was still full of action. It was the final game of the day that became the most exciting in the only Group A game this week taking place in France. Hosts Bourges nearly gave up a lead in regulation against Russian powerhouse UMMC Ekaterinburg, but prevailed 77-69 in overtime to stun their opponents and send shockwaves through the competition. In the win, ex-DII player Johannah Leedham had 15 points and ex-George Washington player Cathy Joens had 11 points. The usual balance in the team was missing in the loss with some of the stars with their significant WNBA experience kept in check as Diana Taurasi had 23 points, Deanna Nolan had 16 points, and Sandrine Gruda had 10 points and 7 rebounds.

On Saturday, David McClure and Siauliai needed a big fourth quarter comeback to beat Prienai 69-64 in domestic league play. David had 6 points in 30 minutes. Derek Needham had 14 points and Vytautas Sulskis had 11 points. In the loss, ex-William and Mary player Laimonas Kisielius had 12 points.
