Lots on my mind tonight. Worries over the dangers of Ima Daughter's continued health problems and the OP's miserable arthritic back. Both are going through a lot and answers elude us.

All this while Native packs for his marvelous summer out on the left coast.

An emotional week in the news as well. Life is just one big warp and weft of celebration and sadness. Sure does yank us around, doesn't it?

OK, back to the rack, to sleep purchance to dream.

It may not be quite the middle of the night, but 1:25 a.m. is close enough. X(

Note to self: naps on Saturday mornings are counter-productive.

It's 2:17 a.m. and I am wide awake.

Good middle of the night, everyone!

During the sermon, I felt something tickling my hand. It was a tick. I crushed that sucker. You would be so proud of me. I did not scream. I wondered how in the world I had a tick crawling on me in the choir loft.

1. I park my car in the garage at home, and I parked in the parking lot next to the door at church. No trees, grass or ticks there.

2. I hugged a lot of people during the greeting time before church. Maybe someone else brought the tick to church. That's my theory.

3. My place in the choir loft is very near the altar, on which two huge urns of homegrown flowers were sitting. Perhaps the tick came in with the hydrangeas and other flowers. That's my mom's theory.

I'm still itching and scratching at imaginary bugs. Ticks in church. Gross!

I guess you missed out on your nap during church, then....

Kudos for not screaming or otherwise going ballistic. People might have thought it was a revival if you had.

It took every ounce of self-control to restrain myself from totally freaking out in the chancel area.

It was a tick. It must die. Also, in whatever gruesome method it takes, whenever, wherever, however. The deer tick population is in an explosion this year. Have no remorse for it's demise. Much like a tarhole, it is a worthless creature.

Death in the sanctuary.

That sounds like the title of a murder mystery.

11:37 here so not technically the middle of the night, but past my bedtime nonetheless. Watched the family picture montage for the memorial service this evening.
