Parity in College Hoops

Post by EarlJam » January 30th, 2013, 10:22 am

You know, just a random thought. There IS a lot of parity in college hoops, but in the end, the power programs still rule the day (for now). I actually like this. Since 2008:

2008 - Kansas
2009 - North Carolina
2010 - DUKE!
2011 - UConn
2012 - Kentucky

Wow. Those are and have been the cream of the crop for many moons.

Just a random thought.

Going back to our win in '91, there have been only 12 champions in over 20 years.

Since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985, the champion has always been from a power conference: ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, PAC 10, and SEC with one exception. When Louisville won in 1986 they were still in the Metro Conference.
