Stay safe and beware of the Trick or Treaters out and about. Drive a little slower in neighborhoods. Leave your light on, so the kids, know you have candy!!!

Re: Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! We are expecting around 500 kids tonight. It's gonna be cold, I was joking with Julie that we are going to see ghosts wearing winter jackets tonight.

We're going to leave our lights off and eat all the candy ourselves .
Still tempted to go out with an empty six pack carrier, knock on doors/ring bells and say: "trick or beer."

That would work at my house. We sit on the front porch (florida weather )and have a cooler with us along with the cany bowl. We've got water, soda and BEER for the big trick or treaters...devildeac wrote:We're going to leave our lights off and eat all the candy ourselves .

I think we have 150 little baggies of chocolate for the occasion. There were fewer hobgoblins than we expected at the church trunk or treat Saturday night.
I also have empty baggies for those dressed in unc clothing. We always have a few.

When my kids were little, my friends and I would put a cooler in the wagon and we'd walk around the neighborhood while the kids did their Trick-or-Treating. We called our escapades "Trick-or-Drinking." Good times.

Re: Happy Halloween!
I heard that the most popular Halloween costume this year is Psy.
Unfortunately (err, fortunately), I have yet to see any trick-or-treaters going Gangnam Style.
ILJ reports seeing a neighborhood kid dressed up as the Mona Lisa (complete with frame). Now THAT's a costume.

I'm reminded tonight of one of my favorite Halloween memories. Native was out on is first Trick or Treat as a tiny toddler. Coming away from a neighbor's door he examined the treat he had been given, turned around, walked back and when the neighbor opened the door again he offered the candy back up and said very politely, "No thank you." That Native has ALWAYS known exactly what he wants!

And I'm experiencing the scariest Halloween of my life tonight: stuck in the library. Thanks, Duke Professors, for scheduling all of your midterms this week.
