Late/dirty hits

Watched the replay of the Lattimore hit again and wondered: did anyone else think it looked a bit dirty? It appeared to me that the Tennessee player was diving straight for Lattimore's legs. Did anyone else notice that? Is it time for the refs to start cracking down on all the cheap shots? For some reason it seems worse this year.
