"Can I ask you a question?"

1) You just did.

2) Obviously, you can, but may you?

Crumpled paper will be the death of me. Even if it's even slightly folded in a corner, I can't write on it.

I am resurrecting this thread because I got another letter which began with "My name is _____________________."

Sorry, whatever your name is. You're not getting a response from me. If that's the best you've got, you're not working here. #-o

Wait what...this is a someone looking for a job? I assumed it was "My name is _____________ and I am a Kenyan Prince in need of help"

Geez. It is a point of pride that my daughter who has been told on multiple occasions that "it is refreshing to interview someone who is professional in their appearance and presentation" Amazing what happens when you can speak clearly and correctly, dress properly and have your resume and cover letters checked by two different people for errors.

Even if this weren't a cover letter for a job, I can look at the return address on the envelope, the letterhead and the signature line for the author's name.

Heck, if the person sent me an email, his or her name would show up in the "from" column in my in-box.

I think you should name him "Peeve."

When he gets married and he and his wife have kittens, you can say, "These are my pet Peeves." =))
