The "CrazieTalk" Band
Okay, we are starting a band.
I have dibs on rhythm guitar (with some simple leads, licks) - also on background vocals.
Who else is in? Name your instrument, talent.
The goal is to have a good GTHC song by football season. We will have a formal practice at Tilly's house warming party!

No vocals.
No stockings or go-go boots. Period. We have had THAT discussion before.

no musical talent - love to sing, have a voice like a bird but the bird is a duck.
I'm pretty good at video editing - so when you're ready for a music video I'll do that

Yes PLEASE drop the D! Why do guitars and basses have an E as the lowest note anyway? This leads guitarist songwriters to fall in love with E and A chords.... which SUCK for sax players like me! Let's start a movement to always drop the D!Miles wrote:Bass in yo face!
EJ, can we write a few songs in drop D tuning?

Re: The "CrazieTalk" Band
Standard tuning does afford those open string chords (E, A as you identified) but it also allows for bar chords that can be transfered up and down the neck of the guitar (mostly).DukeUsul wrote:Yes PLEASE drop the D! I am pretty technical, but does this have anything to do with affecting CHOP STICKS?Miles wrote:Standard tuning does afford those open string chords (E, A as you identified) but it also allows for bar chords that can be transfered up and down the neck of the guitar (mostly).DukeUsul wrote:Yes PLEASE drop the D! Thankfully, no. You can still bust out chop sticks on the piano. As long as I'm not around. ;)cl15876 wrote:I am pretty technical, but does this have anything to do with affecting CHOP STICKS?Miles wrote:Standard tuning does afford those open string chords (E, A as you identified) but it also allows for bar chords that can be transfered up and down the neck of the guitar (mostly).DukeUsul wrote:Yes PLEASE drop the D!
