I was telling my girlfriend about Mike Cross, and then thought "Hey, I should see if he's playing anywhere near here soon"...so I looked it up and found out he had been in town the week before. Ugggh. Somebody didn't promote that show worth a damn. When I was a kid my parents took us to see him at the Cat's Cradle on Franklin...he's awesome.

(Good news is he will be back in Morehead in August. :happy-bouncyblue: )

Even better, he's wandering across the wrong side of the Mason-Dixon line this summer as well, for Bethlehem's music festival... I took Mrs. Turk to see him a long time ago, back in DC before the young Turks started hatching. It was either Wolf Trap or the Birchmere, and afterward a thoroughly entertained Mrs. Turk asked, "How do you find these people?"

I was at the Goodwill store yesterday afternoon and saw a cartload of "The Carolina Way" books by Dean Smith. They were selling the books for $1.50 each.

When is said event? I may have to schedule a trip to visit Sister Sue and family at that time. He played in KC a long time ago when he had come to the Winfield Festival - it was a small club and not huge attendance so we got to visit with him afterward.

So it seems that a bunch of us CTNers were at the Mike Cross show in the fall of 1979. How weird is that.

Guess FutureDA & Merlin were playin' on the save wavelength today - she fell asleep during her dinner bottle, and went out cold. We spent some time at the park today, she did a great amount of crawling around tonight, and Mr. DA helped her take lots of practice walking steps, so she was just WORN OUT.

:x :happy-bouncyblue:

(Now, hopefully she doesn't wake up screaming-hungry later tonight!) :shhh:
