Any word on injury updates?

Post by The Football Fan » December 10th, 2011, 1:06 pm

1. Has anyone heard if Brandon Connette can get a redshirt/medical hardship year counted for this year? He played in 1&1/2 games and even in those games wasn't used extensively.
2. Kenny Anunike was a redshirt Junior which would mean he could come back next year, but it seemed like the TV commentary during the game indicated he was likely done with football. Cutcliffe's comments later seemed to give some credence to that line of thought. Has anyone heard whether that's true? The medical world has come so far that it's sometimes hard to know when someone is medically done with a sport.
3. Does anyone know more on Snead's foot injury? Was it better by the middle of the season and they just decided to take the redshirt year or was it a lingering issue that persisted throughout the whole season?
4. Anyword on Ondigo? He showed a lot of potential. Does anyone remember the final diagnosis? recovery time?
5. If you know of another injury I left out, feel free to provide info if you know it.

Coach Cut is really good at respecting HIPAA laws...which is good/awesome, but from a fan perspective it kinda stinks.

It looks like Connette, Anunike, and Butler will get an extra year. I'm most excited about Kenny Anunike getting another chance. Considering all the injuries I don't know if it's reasonable to assume he'll come back as good as he was in the first few games last year, but I'll be happy to see him compete on the field for the whole year.

I hadn't realized that Butler only got in a few games. I thought he played too much to qualify for a hardship. He had some big plays so it's pretty exciting to see him come back next year.

I really wonder what the extra year on the sidelines may have added or subtracted from the Connette package. Big mystery what he comes back like and how the back up QB pans out. It kinda seemed like Boone started to separate himself as the number 2 behind Sean. I still think Connette's a better runner, but was more likely to throw a pick in his freshman season than Boone. I think that's the difference maker. Still, I guess we'll see more come time for the spring game.

Word is that Snead is coming back and that he had healed fairly well by mid-season, but with Scott and Thompson mostly healthy and serviceable back-ups in Kurunwune and Hollingsworth, that he would take the 'shirt and be back as a healthy redshirt soph this year.

Have not heard a thing about Ondigo, either type/extent of injury or recovery time.

No other injuries of which I am aware. And, as we all know, Conner Vernon will be back, hopefully as indestructible as ever.
[redacted] them and the horses they rode in on.
