New Column/Thread/Feature, by me, EarlJam
Beginning tonight, after each Duke Men's Basketball Game, I, EarlJam, will write a column/thread recapping the game. It will not have stats. It will not have quotes (real ones anyway). The name of the column will be:
IT KIND OF WENT LIKE THIS.....
The "spirit" of the column will be of that in a bar (or at the water cooler the next day at work). A friend comes up, asks you how the game went. If I do my "job," you'll get the gist of how the game went, along with the key points and maybe a stat or two, especially if the stat was a record breaker or something like that. Something short, sweet, to-the-point with some general observation/frustration/elation thrown in.
So imagine it as being something in-between real reporting and casual conversation. Enough to sound like you watched the game. String them all together and you'll get the basic picture of the success, personality, style and stories of how this season went.
So tonight I look forward to the first installment entitled, "Western Michigan - It Kind of Went Like This...."
Thank you. I hope you will read it and/or enjoy it and in some cases, get results from it. If not, well, may you burn in Hell. Kidding. I'll still just enjoy doing it.

Oh, and it will be straight from my mind, in my words too. I know not many people read the boards to get results, so to be honest, yes, doing partly for myself as I want a recap at end of the year.............but DO want to share, because that's the kind of guy I am ;)
I've written for papers and such, and know that style and such, but this will be no such type of thingy. This will be like a direct Wi-Fi link from my brain to the boards, with only the crappiest of a charcoal and cotton, 10-gallon fish tank filter to weed out the misspellings, grammar, wayward thinking, etc.
That's all. I'm going to KROGER now!

Dang. I fell asleep shortly after this game. It was a laugher anyway. Future games will feature my report very soon after, and will be of a higher quality (relatively speaking, of course, than this one).
Anyway, reagarding last night's game with Western Michigan, It Went a Little Like This....
Geez, I'm Pleased, to say the Threes, brought W. Michigan to thier Knees
No Contest. I wonder if Western Michigan even knew what hit them. The game was close for about 5 minutes. Then Duke started raining 3s like rain in a big rain storm that accumulates record-setting rain. In fact, at one point, Bob Harris said Duke was taking "Target Practice" on Western Michigan.
Anyway, in short, Duke kicked their ass, winning by 40 or something, 110-70 or something like that. I mean, damn. And Seth Curry lit it up. Spicy! He had like 57 points or something.
After nearly every player for Western Michigan fouled out in the first half (actually none did but they came close), the refs took it easy on them and stopped calling fouls, even when they did. Pity. Mercy. Also, Western Michigan laid off the fouling quite a bit when they realized the rough play wasn't helping at all.
StainyRiver, #40, or whatever his name is/was for Western Michigan did okay but man, what an odd looking bird. Kind of a cross between Margaret Thatcher and Will Ferrell. Anyway, he played pretty well for them in the grand scheme but did miss a dunk. The Crazies let him know about it by chanting, "You can't dunk! You can't dunk!" It was funny. We all laughed. Seriously.
Anyway, Duke continued the absolute ass-whippin' and to be honest, the game was rather boring towards the end. But hey, we'll take that. Also, Miles got his hook shot blocked. Don't see that often.
Overall, a mighty fine game and Coach K was pleased by the performance. "We had a mighty fine game," said K, "and I'm pleased by my team's performance."
Duke improves it's Cameron Indoor Stadium winning streak to 42 and improves to 11-1 on the year.
Next game is againt Penn on New Year's Day (tomorrow) at 5:00 at Cameron. If Duke scores more points than Pennsylvania, they should be okay. Look for the next installment of "It Went a Little Like This..." tomorrow! The quality will be a little bit better, but hey, this counts!
I love you all,
-EarlJam
