Have you ever camped in your house? In sleeping bag, on floor, with only candleliight?

Yes. It can be really cool and fun, especially with a significant other (but the latter not totally needed for this poll)

Yes, but I was forced to because of weather or other conditions and I hated it.

Indoor Camping

Have you ever slept in a sleeping bag, on the floor, in your house, on purpose with lights out and candles on?

Yeah, definitely, if the power goes out in a snow storm.

My idea of camping is a hotel without room service.

Why would I sleep in a sleeping bag when I have a perfectly good bed with nice sheets and pillows to sleep in?

I've never camped indoors but I have grabbed a sleeping bag and pillow to curl up and pass out on the bathroom floor while very very drunk. I consider that to be a veteran move.

Camping indoors is fun! Required when power goes out, or the upstairs AC unit goes out and downstairs still works.

But it's fun! Start with your significant other when the relationship is young...then we became newlyweds. Still fun!

After few years, you "camp" with the kids, getting them used to the sleeping bags before you take them out in a tent.

Then you camp on the sofa waiting for the darn kids (now 18 and 20) to get their butts home.

We'll see what happens when both kids are off at college next year...

Yeah, well, I live with a well in the docks of boon. The very idea of power going out makes me feel ill. Camping indoors is not sexy. Sorry.

Warm beer makes me sad. I am a princess, peel me a grape. :((

I've got some beers to suggest that taste better at cellar temps or even room temps but not necessarily warm. Perhaps that would make you less sad. ;)

Of COURSE camping in the house when you lose power, particularly if all your utilities depend on power, isn't exactly the sexiest thing. I'll give you that one!

But when there's full power, with heat or AC appropriate for the season, it can be a lot of fun!

A favorite memory - 5 or 6 Thanksgivings ago we went to PA for the holiday. One night, the 2 nephews, the niece, the mom, and the two aunts camped out in the family room together. Of course, Duke was in the Great Alaska Shootout at the time so I made them leave the TV on (muted) so I could watch the game. It was lots of fun!

Thanks. The last time I did that was after my birthday celebration in May. When I woke up (or came to) in the morning I crawled upstairs (I had enough sense to go to the basement bathroom so as not to inconvenience anyone else who tried to use the upstairs bathroom) thinking I should put on some coffee and try to pull my life back together. As I got to the top of the stairs my roommate was sitting on the couch watching TV while hungover as all hell. He took one look at me and said "Where the fuck were you?!?" I explained that I had passed out on the bathroom floor and, when he noticed the sleeping bag and pillow, he remarked that taking them with me was a veteran move - as would be expected from someone of my advanced age. Arsehole. It was a good night. The next morning really sucked though.

Come to think of it, I haven't been on a bender since last week so maybe it is high time I went on another...

And yes, the next time you come up here we'll definitely have to hit the bars for some adult beverages.
