Burlington Williams QB passes away

Post by DevilWearsPrada2.0 » August 30th, 2011, 11:02 am

This is so sad. Cohen had a wonderful game on Friday night vs Southern Alamance, and took some hard hits. Prayers and vibes for the entire Williams High School.

Oh, that is just hideous and tragic. My heart goes out to Henry's family and friends.

I can say when I was in High School, no athletes passed away from Injuries from a practice or game.

I remember in middle school, a 6th grader having Cancer, and dying, and a 7th grade girl was hit on a bicycle, and lived for several days, but died from the internal injuries. And when I was a Freshman, a Senior girl (honor student), just a few weeks away from graduation, committed suicide with a gunshot.

It seems you hear more tragic stories from Football players. Football is a very brutal sport on a young man's body. Hence, the awesome movie, THE BLIND SIDE, and the story of Michael Oher. The Right or Left Tackle protects the Quarterback, at all cost, and his Blind Side.

Williams High School has always had a good Football program.

This young man had attended several youth functions and was known fairly well and admired by several of the youth in dukediv2012's new church in Burlington. He has had a very rough year as 3 other teens were killed in a high speed car wreck earlier this year in the church in Rolesville where he served as an intern for a couple summers. Tragic.

Which church in Burlington?
St Marks? Methodist?
So many ministers / pastors graduated from Duke Divinity!
