The rats are leaving the sinking ship. Here is part of a comment from the ESPN article regarding the promotion of Everett Withers.

How about all of those games where the defense was torched by QB's like Ponder, Harris, R. Wilson, and Tyrod Taylor? Did you happen to notice how Withers' entire scheme was based on this sissy coverage shell where he dropped the LB's back, only to have the opposing QB hit the seam between the LB's and DB's to destroy them?

And it's not like Withers ONLY terrible DC job was at UNC. I seem to recall Minnesota giving up national debt-like numbers on defense during his tenure up there.

Sorry, I should have set that quote off better. The whole thing (except where I re-quote the national debt part) is part of a comment left by a disgruntled pepto bismol blue fan on ESPN. He/she is the one saying they'll win four games tops, not me. I don't know how many games they play with the Little Sisters of the Poor, the School for the Blind and Deaf, the NC School of the Arts, etc., so I'm not qualified to figure out how many games they will win. I hope zero, but I'm sure that's a little much to hope for.

The Unc interim head coach, Coach Withers seems to have intergrity based on his news conference. He is from Charlotte, NC. Graduated from App State. His father was a mail carrier for over 30 years in the Myers Park area, and Mother taught school for 33 years, per the radio interview I heard yesterday.

He had already spoke with 35 football players, personally, when he conducted the interview. The Rams Club, or Unc fans, can say they will not renew their donations, or tickets. But thats a bunch of blah blah. They will. A true fan will there on Saturdays in the stadium to support the Team that plays on the field.

Unc has very good recruits, and returns a good team. Only Butch is gone. The Unc fan base should rally around their new Coach. His assistants sing his praise.

It appears to me, that AD Dick Baddour made a good choice, from within. I think the Unc team will be More Unified.

I don't see why all the Unc Rams club and fans are moaning and bitching and complaining. They knew Butch would get the ax. It should have come sooner, vs later. And the AD, stepping down, was on the wall also.

The Powder Blue team, will not be playing like Powder Puff Football. They will be unified and ready to compete.

Where is Butch Davis these days? Hanging out with John Blake? Is his house on the market?
