Knowing how to play football and knowing how to win aren't the same thing. I believe Cutcliffe is teaching this team how to win, so we should be seeing more of those close games swinging our way.RSharpe54 wrote: I keep going back to the UNC game when Joe Surgan missed that extra point and the interception that Thad Lewis threw against Miami in that 15-20 loss. We really should've beaten Wake Forest at there place, but had a field goal blocked in the final seconds!

Well yeah, but I also think that we have to put together 4 full quarters of football and in the past that has been the problem, finishing! In 2009 we were 5-3 going into our last 4 games and we ended up losing all them. We were tied at 6-6 with UNC going into the 4th quarter we had a lead at Miami as we did versus GT and Wake before losing. I believe you have to finish in games like that I also agree that we will win those games more and more! Once these young men start to get on a roll or start winning I think big things are bound to happen for us in future! But it starts on the field and we have to play 4 full quarters of football to win these games that we have been so close to winning!CameronBornAndBred wrote:Knowing how to play football and knowing how to win aren't the same thing. 1. Identify the top receivers
2. Solidify the offensive line
3. Retool the defensive line
4. Smooth any staff glitches
5. Find a backup quarterback

If anything else lets at least beat Wake Forest. My friend at work is a Wake fan, and all I hear year in and year out after we have lost to them was how Jim Grobe has never lost to Duke! We need to beat them at home this year and start a streak against them! Then there is winning at UNC, would absoultely make the season great if we beat them on the road to either go to a bowl game or end the season overall!

It is too soon to answer the second question, but November 5 is the answer to the first question.Lavabe wrote:And WHEN do we play Miami? And who will play for Miami? ;)

If it didn't cost so dang much to change flights, I would leave for our cruise one day early and fly into Ft. Lauderdale on the 5th. I suspect football tix would be pretty cheap right now.Bob Green wrote:It is too soon to answer the second question, but November 5 is the answer to the first question.Lavabe wrote:And WHEN do we play Miami?
