Need some help for my wife...
Is anyone familiar with or have a piece from Magnolia Hall Furniture in Smyrna, Georgia? My wife is doing our parlor in a Victorian style, and it's been impossible to find matching or at least complementary marble coffee tables/end tables that are real antiques. However, dropping coin on furniture that she's never seen in person or at least knows someone who recommends is just too much risk for her. Can anybody vouch for them? Does anybody live near Smyrna and pass through there on a regular basis who could step in and just give me a quick feel on their quality?
Or, does anybody know of another furniture place that does antique replicas that would do a marble top coffee table/end table that they CAN vouch for? That would certainly work as well.
Thanks so much.

Looks like solid stuff. The Abigail Adams line, perhaps? That framing appears much heavier produced than any true period chairs and sofas. I have a suite in storage that is period, from the estate of Gov. Morehead's former home in Eden NC. On the Adams line, the wood stock looks twice as heavy as what I have. A lot of the upholstered furniture of the time was actually made in Europe and shipped over. It is fragile and uncomfortable to sit on. People are sized and shaped differently from what they once were. Also, posture is not what it was then. The only way to know for certain is...ROAD TRIP!

Sometimes I amaze my own damned self.
I've dabbled in antiquities for several years. Did some refinishing and repair work too. In addition the the one living room suite, we had another and we had the dining room suite. It was made of English Oak, had a 14 foot long table with carved Lion's head and claw feet, a 6 foot serving table, a 10 foot sideboard/bar with large oval beveled edge mirror and carved columned supports. Master's and Matron's chairs, four Gentlemen's and four Ladies' chairs. Here's where posture is highly noted. The Ladies' chairs and the Matron's have seat backs that were on 90 degree angles from the bottoms, while the Gentlemen's and Master's were probably about 110 degrees of angle. Ladies were expected to sit up all prim and proper at the table while the menfolk were allowed to slouch and recline. ;)
One living suite and the dining room have long ago found new ownership. Our little business was done as what I refer to as being a 'Flea Marketeer'. I don't miss those days.
