Check this out! (Welcome back Vince!)
http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/2 ... eaks-staff
Jomar Wright, who spent last year as a graduate assistant coach, moves into the role of recruiting assistant while former Blue Devil All-American defensive lineman Vince Oghobaase has been added as a staff assistant.
Duke born, Duke bred, cooking on a grill so I'm tailgate fed.

I'm thrilled! Jomar is a great addition in his new assignment, but Vince is the prize!
All this coming out the same day the new guys report for the beginning of their careers at Duke! Time for a happy dance!

It's a shame we didn't have Rick Petri when Vince was still playing. We may have gotten a bowl...Oh well...
I guess these are all good moves, but how do you know? What was it about each one that made them right for the role as oppose to a warm body to fill the position. For example, what was it about Jomar that they thought made him right for that position. Was he really organized or a great communicator? But then...being that detail oriented of a fan may indicate a nutty fan or a lack of a life on my end.
I'm just really looking forward to the start of the year. I want to see these guys put it all together.

Here's what impresses me about both, but more so Vince. Both were Roof recruits, and V.O. was a huge get. Definite sure fire NFL guy coming to Duke. And while he was here, he had a solid career surrounded by bad teams and an occasional injury. He had two years under Cutcliffe, signed undrafted by Miami, and went on to play for the whatchamacallit league. If ever there was a guy to look back on his college days with a sour taste, it could be Vince without blame. So to see him come back as a teacher, as still a leader, I'm beyond happy and impressed. And it also speaks volumes for Cutcliffe and his attitude towards building his program.

Vince's return is a win-win situation.... in addition to what he brings to guide and mentor others, what better way for Vince to stay in shape and be in a positive, very supportive environment during the lock out? I don't know if he still needs some rehab from lingering injuries, but he's going to have access to some great medical support at Duke.
A slight tangent.... you may have read about Eli Manning being on campus recently. He brought some of his receivers to Duke to work out during this down period for the NFL. We know Coach Cutcliffe is a draw, but now the facilities are beginning to be a draw as well. If the situation appeals to Eli, why not Vince?
The new class arrived on campus yesterday. What a great staff to greet them and get them started in their careers at Duke!
