The search is over...

Post by fordgrl00 » May 9th, 2011, 7:50 am

I found this little fella over the weekend. Meet Duke, he is a beagle-terrier mix. I got him from a local rescue group that was at a pet store adoption fair. He is so sweet and is super soft. About a year and half old, is crate trained and does not shed unless very little. Now the fun part on how to train him to listen. Just like a guy, he listens when he wants to apparently...haha I do plan on trying out a training class from a previous suggestion from Windsor. So far he seems to play great with kids and get along well with other dogs too. He had a busy weekend. I will put more pics up along way on Facebook. I could not have found a more perfect match in a dog. Now I must find all sorts of Duke doggie toys... :happy-bouncyblue: :O3 :happy-bouncyblue:

Yes, there were some other dogs there but they were mostly either bigger dogs or puppies who would be bigger then I wanted.

HaHa, yes I was very creative on the name! I thought of JJ, Kyle, Singler, and a few other players names to incorporate but Duke seems to fit him well. (They had him named Calvin, so now I just have to get him to know his new name) And he looks good in blue too! :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:

Cute dog but if he is going to chew up and destroy his toys, as most dogs do, shouldn't you get him Kerlina branded stuff? The symbolism would be priceless.

Our dogs have played with tar heel toys for almost 15 years now.

The local grocery store had a referee dog toy for tough chewers, as well. (He lasted about 3 minutes with Merlin.) Having your dog tear a referee to shreds during Duke basketball season can be quite cathartic. Otherwise, I'm with those who suggest the sheep toys, unless they leave a bad taste in little Duke's mouth. :9f:

Hmmm.. you bring up a good reason for a tarhole toy purchase.. I will keep that in mind. I have always said I will never purchase any of their products and support them in any way.

Duke has been such a good boy, I missed him while I was at work today!
