Question for Smart Duke People
While cleaning up today, I noticed a quarter-sized (approximate) blood stain on my carpet. My question: If it's older than six months old, does the DNA evidenc....um, I mean, the DNA codes or what not just break down and become undetectable?
Does Tilex help?
Just asking.
Thanks.

Okay, I tried to post a reply but was told the path did not exist. This not being the DBR, I was surprised that the mods would have taken down the thread. Then I thought that maybe EJ took it down himself. But now it's back. So...EarlJam wrote:While cleaning up today, I noticed a quarter-sized (approximate) blood stain on my carpet. No, my friend, neither time nor bleach will get rid of the DNA codes. You are, hypothetically, screwed.
Your paradigm of optimism

Re: Question for Smart Duke People
I would recommend a carpet knife (for the carpet AND pad) and a fire. A hole in your carpet may be incriminating, but DNA could be damning.

Just recarpet the whole place, and make sure the carpet is disposed of in a place that can't be linked to you, i.e. the closest dumpster.windsor wrote:I would recommend a carpet knife (for the carpet AND pad) and a fire. A hole in your carpet may be incriminating, but DNA could be damning.

The same knife? I got rid of that months ago. You see....oh. Or a diff.....................oh. I see where you're going. Okay. Wow. That's good. That's really good. How about a new carpet alltogether?

Remove the offending part...dispose of it then replace the carpet. Even if they trace the entire carpet to you (hair/fiber evidence) the DNA will be nowhere to be found.TillyGalore wrote:Just recarpet the whole place, and make sure the carpet is disposed of in a place that can't be linked to you, i.e. the closest dumpster.windsor wrote:I would recommend a carpet knife (for the carpet AND pad) and a fire. Did your neighbor park in your space again?

"...linked to me...?"
What are you suggesting? I've done nothing. Nothing I tell you! Just because my neighbor is such a selfish soul sucking compassion vampire who's been missing for 1 year, eight months, one week and four days, that doesn't mean I'd....................well, nevermind.
I appreciate the feedback.
Many thanks,

Um, I'd probably avoid the "closest dumpster" myself. ;)TillyGalore wrote:Just recarpet the whole place, and make sure the carpet is disposed of in a place that can't be linked to you, i.e. the closest dumpster.windsor wrote:I would recommend a carpet knife (for the carpet AND pad) and a fire. (there are some employees that you have to wonder who put the chlorine in the DNA pool while others you see outright as a few cans short of a six pack)
