Calling all Space Nerds

Post by wilson » March 18th, 2011, 10:06 am

And by that, I mean you, DukeUsul.
According to NASA, this weekend's full moon will be a "super perigee" moon, meaning that it will appear to be especially big in the sky. The last time it was so big and close was in March of 1993.

Just an FYI - I too am a space nerd. Proud of it. Have always loved all things astronomy. I want to purchase a kick-ass telescope where you can see the elevations of the craters and shit on the moon.

Yes, MoonJam, I knew that you were also a space nerd. I forgot, and for that, I sincerely apologize.
I have a bit of a date tomorrow evening with a lovely lady, to hang out and drink a few beverages and watch the giant moon come up. If she's into such abject nerdery, she's gotta be alright.

You might be able to get a good deal on a surplus shuttle sometime soon! They'll have a couple of them laying around not doing much after this summer :(

Present!

Don't let the nutjobs know about this. They'll start sending around email forwards about how this is going to cause massive earthquakes and floods and volcanoes and the world will end.

We've had more than a few and we designed and built the arm used on the Space Shuttle.

The moon was quite impressive last night, especially coming over the horizon - here in Mebane, NC.
