Re: Sue's Disastrous Adventure
Sue,
I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm glad you and Chloe are ok. Was the fire in your apt or a neighbor's?
Vibes for a quick clean up heading your way.

An opportunity to do some PWing :D Happy Canada Day! I always have liked your National anthem - at least since 1980. O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. I'm still in the running for the primary care job just off the island, but they don't want to bring anyone on board until September! Yay!! I inter...

Re: The other Judge Sotomayor thread
One could argue that promotions were denied because those that passed the test reasonably expected to be at least interviewed as the next step. They were denied the opportunity to interview for the positions based on the color (or lack thereof) of the successful test takers. The test was administere...

The weather has cooled off for a few days - lower humidity too! I decided to turn off the ac (actually just cranked the temp up) and open windows. I hope this lasts for a few days.

My question is strictly from a non-lawyer point of view (I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night). If the test was designed to have no racial bias (I heard some of the questioning on NPR and this is what I recall) and the people taking the test expected the results to lead to promoti...

Moved in. Knick knack-y stuff to put away, plus some of my bedroom still to do. And hang pictures. But virtually everything else is done. Phew. Congratulations! I'm impressed most of the stuff is put away already. Last week I dreamed I moved to CA - should I come help hang the pictures? :D ;)
