Re: DinK visit to Triangle area?

Don't look to me for suggestions - I've determined that I was a rather boring Duke student. I didn't get off campus to eat very often. I remember cheap wings at Darryl's (long gone I'm sure) and fried chicken at some place downtown where you parked in the abandoned gas station next door. I'm ashamed...

Re: Life is good.

Thanks for sharing. I agree that LIFE IS GOOD . I just spent a week with some of the youth from our church. We traveled to Minneapolis for a mission trip. We joined youth groups from various states to work with a variety of organizations to serve the community. My crew of 5 teens spent Mon - Thurs a...

Re: Gardening

I have some baby squash, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll continue to grow. My okra plants are coming back from the ravages inflicted on them by Peter Rabbit. I might have some okra by this fall. I'm researching whether installing an electric fence will help my garden thrive next yea...

Re: Lavabe's Madagascar 2009 Lemur Thread

May you have an aisle/bulkhead or unexpectedly empty seat in front of you on your journey home... :D It's packed all the way home. I am, however, hoping for something else... "We have overbooked this flight..." May you be bumped to first class! You deserve it for the work you are doing fo...

Re: LTE 2.0

If anyone is interested, we blogged about the trip: http://lumcyouthreveal.blogspot.com/ Did you ever find Bob and Larry? Sadly, Mac has not recovered Bob and Larry as of yet. That is not to say that they won't appear at some time in the future. One of the songs that was used as an alarm clock duri...

Re: LTE 2.0

I saw that (or most of it last night). It was ok but I wouldn't mind having my $6.50 back. Only went because most of the youth group wanted to go. I had to leave early to get another early leaver back to the church before it locked so we could get the rest of the group into the building. Have you b...

Re: Lavabe's Madagascar 2009 Lemur Thread

Ben, Thanks for sharing your story. I appreciate all the work you do to help conservation efforts for lemurs. I went to the Como Park zoo in St. Paul yesterday and was hoping they would have lots of lemurs. They only had Sclater lemurs - who were sleeping. I was hoping to find more variety and activ...

Re: Vibes for Imafacultiwyfe and Imafacultydaughter

Renewed vibes from Kansas. I hope it turns out to be a small, common microbe so a quick dose of antibiotics can knock it out. My shin kicking abilities are available - and will be in Durham on Thursday.

Prayers for strength and healing for Ima FacultyDaughter.

Back from the Mission trip in Minneapolis. My crew fed about 200 people a day for 4 days, rearranged an office, and got the first coat of paint on 98% of a conference room.

Re: LTE 2.0

I don't drink coffee...substitute tea or hot chocolate and i'll go. Most days, I rely on Diet Mountain Dew for my caffeine fix. Now that's good stuff, too. It has more caffeine than Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi per 12 ounce serving. It's otherwise known as the nectar of the gods in my household. That wo...

Re: LTE 2.0

Well, the archive is closed today, and I was going to sit on the beach and drink Kronenbourg in honor of Bastille Day. But as of right now, it's rather gray, and this afternoon's forecast calls for thunderstorms. So, for now, I'm just interwebbing and watching the Cosby Show. Maybe I'll storm a pri...

12 pages of LTE 2.0 to catch up - so plenty of opportunities to do some PWing to catch up after being away for a week.
