Re: Christmas Giving
On the spur of the moment, I, at the very last minute, picked up a pizzelle maker for my mother-in-law. If you aren't familiar with them, they're little thin waffle-like wafer cookies popular among the Italian-Americans here in Jersey (and maybe elsewhere too). I didn't know if she had one (the make...

Re: Winter - Love It Or hate It?
Sepnt 13.5 hrs going from Derm to South Jersey today. Usually takes 8.5 hrs. Woke up at 5am (snow already on the ground) and it snowed the whole way up. Got in to my in-laws around 8 or so. The ride up through DC was pretty good, until all those loonies in and around our nation's capital all left w...

Re: Winter - Love It Or hate It?
We have direct vented gas logs in our family room and they produce a fucking lot of heat. My wife hates the cold and will crank that thing up, wear a sweatshirt and sit under a blanket next to the thing. Meanwhile, I have to run around the house in my skivvies if it's been on for any more than 10 mi...

Re: Winter - Love It Or hate It?
I absolutely LOVE cold weather and the snow. Last year when we were in Jersey over Christmas and we got 20+ inches (that's what SHE said), I absolutely adored going out after each six inches fell and cranking up the snowblower to clear the driveway. I could spend all day outside in the snow. There's...

Re: Winter - Love It Or hate It?
I love moderate winters. Grew up in Mass and NJ where we had snow every couple of weeks. Now that I'm in NC for 15 years I find myself missing it.
Re: LTE 2.0
Another Lessons & Carols service on the books! Let the season begin! Yay! :happy-bouncyblue: How did it go? Attendance was a bit low due to the icy roads. Music was good. Handbells did better than this morning, and Wachet auf went surprisingly well. The problems? Handbells played immediately before...
Re: LTE 2.0
Supposedly we may get a dusting here in Derm. Would be nice to wake up to a few flakes on the ground. Ground may be too warm though.
Re: LTE 2.0
Ugh. We had a bunch of friends over for our annual Gingerbread party. I had set the DVR to record the game, since I was going to be tied up with prep for the party. Just sat down tho watch it and it didn't record. And not for the reason you think. I did see that the game was moved to FOX 50 here in ...

Glad they're selling them. Sucked to see all the empty seats in the ends of the bleachers last night.
