Re: Hangovers

John Wayne Special from "Eat at Joe's" in Redondo Beach always hits the spot too. Two eggs over medium, with cheese, on home fries and a tortilla, smothered in Spanish sauce and surrounded with sausage. Throw in a few bloody mary's and you'll cure any hangover. :-bd I'm thinking some extra strength...

Re: Ymm, Beer!

I do the same thing if I go to a pub and have a sampler. I'll take notes so I can remember what to write later. Can be tough to do/remember if you have 5-7 beers in a sitting, even if they are only 3-4 ounces each. You know, it never occurred to me to take notes. I always thought I could remember t...

Re: LTE 2.0

In the past 24 hours I have slaughtered at least 50 earwigs. I had seen more than usual for this time of the year, and thought nothing of it until last night when they were crawling under a crack in my screen door. I'd say there was a new earwig every 10 minutes. One fell on me while I was napping o...

Re: Bostondevil is Bib # 25715

I fuckin' did it!!!! I got an official time, you show up on the website, it's official. That was the goal. I thought you didn't get one unless you break 6 hours but you actually have 6 hours 15 minutes from the start of the second wave. The clock was still up an it read 6:13 something when I crosse...

Re: Hangovers

Ok, if I know I'm going to be drinking a lot, I take 1 Advil, 1 Pepto Bismol, & 1 multi-vitamin BEFORE starting. Drink water in between and 1-2 at the end. Take 1 more of each mentioned before bed. No problems except being tired if I don't get much sleep. If I go on an "unplanned" spree, I take 2 A...

Re: Hangovers

I would be ok but for the next day sleepiness. But yet often can't nap even if I want to... Any known cures that work for that, or for any aspect of hangovers? Hydration, Advil, etc. don't help with the next day fatigue/mental haze... Not a cure exactly, but I found that when I was in Germany at a ...

Re: What States Have You Lived In?

Yea, but if you look at any of the people's lists that have really long ones, they have MULTIPLE repeats. Like I said, if I included my repeats, my list would be more impressive too. We military brats, especially, have a tendency to live places multiple times. ;) Oh yeah! One of the reasons I avoid...

Re: The Official Anna Paquin Appreciation Thread

Anna Paquin's ta-tas are fake. How does one come across this knowledge? They certainly didn't appear fake in True Blood. Doesn't matter though, I'm not crushing on her for her ta-tas. I've had my kid's dentist laser away the fibrous tissue which caused his diastema. The gap closed almost immediatel...

Re: The Official Anna Paquin Appreciation Thread

I'm down for the distinction since her father is Canadian, but I can't agree (yet) that I would be Chinese just because I were born in China. I believe that standpoint over simplifies the concept of nationality. Doesn't cultural heritage have an influence? Of course cultural heritage has an influen...

Re: LTE 2.0

Can someone start drooling over Krysta again or talk about nailpolish or fishnet stockings or something? Having to read about tea parties & nationalities is just downright tedious. Geez, it's not the PPB. :p ;) BTW, Krysta, a belated welcome! :D :ymhug: Amen. Go tell it on the mountain, sister. Thi...

p.s. I would like to add, in reference to your post that started this conversation, that I do also think it's funny when people refer to him as a socialist because it seems like they're using it as an insult. And I should say that I don't believe the socialist label is exclusive to President Obama. ...

Re: Tea Parties

I believe one could make an argument that any president that can force out CEOs might, at the very least, lean a little more towards the socialist side. I disagree. He didn't demand that a CEO be let go. What he did was say that, if you want money from us, then that person must go. He didn't initia...

Re: Tea Parties

Does he advocate state or worker ownership of the means of production? Does he advocate the state setting prices for goods and services? That doesn't quite answer my question, but I'll entertain you. I believe one could make an argument that any president that can force out CEOs might, at the very ...
