Re: Vibes for Soleil
Thanks again everybody! Kelly and I are both feeling much better too. After a fairly normal, light day of activity Soleil was back in good spirits. That makes all the difference in the world. I'm still more than a littler peeved when I think about it, but I have a planning meeting soon so I'll be ta...

Re: Vibes for Soleil
Very happy to hear Soleil is on the mend. Hopefully Soleil is smarter than my childhood sheltie and one bite will be enough to teach her to leave snakes alone. As an aside, in certain areas of the country snake aversion training is a life saver for dogs. I generally abhor shock collars as a trainin...

Re: LTE 2.0
On the bright side, Miles, ... you did well in Fantasy NASCAR this week. 8-} Ha! That did make me happy so your post is spot on. I caught the last 50 of the race after all the yard work, I should've added that to the list of all the bad things that happened this weekend. What a snooze fest. The coo...
Re: LTE 2.0
Friday the 13th came and went without much annoyance at all. Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th kicked my ass. We had plans this weekend to have friends over to help us clean up the back yard and then enjoy some burgers on the grill. Five quickly turned to three, which lasted half a day Saturday ...

Re: Vibes for Soleil
Thanks to everyone for your kinds words and support. I'm happy to say that Soleil has improved remarkably in 24 hours. Last night was rough all night. I slept on the sofa so Kelly could have her up in the bed to keep an eye on her. I don't think either one of them slept very good at all. Poor Soleil...

Re: Vibes for Soleil
Don't feel too badly for snuffin' a copperhead. They are very dangerous toward humans...and other living creatures. Rattlers tend to be more aggressive when young and small. They don't know much better than to use their ultimate defense when alarmed. Older ones will grow to become much more reserve...

Re: Vibes for Soleil
You probably didn't get the same amount of satisfaction by killing the snake before you knew that it bit Soleil. Exactly! I would do it again in a heartbeat, and now that I know how dangerous they are to humans, and how ruthless they are to pets, I wouldn't feel as much remorse or have any conflict...

Vibes for Soleil
Our dog Soleil was bitten by a copperhead this afternoon. Thankfully, dogs are quite resilient to their venom, and the bite is rarely fatal. We got her to the vet in less than thirty minutes and her doctor says going to be fine. She may be fine, but Kelly and I are both emotional wrecks. The sad iro...

Great game! I especially loved how nobody had ever really heard of Oriakhi, and then all of a sudden everybody was an expert.ArkieDukie wrote:Drink any time a player from another school announces he's transferring, and a thread appears about how this player would be the perfect addition to our team.

Good Morning! It is a beautiful day and we'll spend it outdoors fighting back ivy, pulling oak seedlings, and moving rocks.

:| They've lost my support though, in any concrete sense of the word. I will still read some threads and use them as a link resource for Duke basketball. This about sums it up for me too. I've been lurking, and even tried posting a few threads and comments recently, but it's just not fun in the foru...

It's okay for Jason to shamelessly promote his radio interviews and movie reviews though.
I guess that's the benefit of being a moderator.

I cannot fathom why they won't let people post nonprofit, charitable contribution pages on the Off-Topic board. Hardly the friendly neighborhood bar I want to frequent.

Re: LTE 2.0
That's damn good, Miles. How did a youngster like you come up with that ancient song? He was singing that stuff before I was even in HS, IIRC. We have even danced to one of his songs, The Masochism Tango. :)) :)) I was blessed with cool parents who made it their business to make sure we weren't rai...
