Re: LTE 2.0

PAGING DEVILDEAC My sister sent the below to me in one of those pass it on emails. Any truth to what she shared? I am particularly concerned about the part that states "there may be no pain in the chest during a heart attack." I've always heard the opposite. About Heart Attacks There are other symp...

Re: LTE 2.0

I love this time of year, when the sun sets so late. Up here in Seattle, it didn't get dark until nearly 10PM tonight. What do you folks do with the extra daylight - anything special? I have a hard time sitting still and watching TV or being on the computer, so worked late (the daylight throws off m...

Awww, good for Falco. What a great name for a fluffy, white dog with a long tail. :D

(Wait, I'm thinking of Falkor from "Never-Ending Story" - same idea?)

I'm a big JJ fan, but he did kind of brick an open three from the top of the key right at the end of regulation, then had a bad (read: telegraphed) pass stolen. Glad to see Orlando keep the game interesting, but I'm seeing this one done in 5.

A full dose of job vibes are on the way, but also vibes that you'll not lose steam on your PhD program! You've come this far, I hope you make it the whole way. Doctor Colchar has such a nice ring to it, doesn't it? :)

Re: The Recipe Thread

I made pulled pork the other night, and as ever, it was damn good. This is a great party recipe; it yields about 6 pounds at roughly 3 bucks a pound. Recipe: Get a pork shoulder or Boston Butt (it might also be labelled as a "picnic shoulder" or something similar). These cuts will generally be some...

Thanks, ILJ, for the update on Lavabe! Glad to hear things are going well for him, sleep issues not withstanding.

Hope you and LL are managing at home with the puppy.

Re: LTE 2.0

So I actually had a GREAT time at UNC during the past two days. I was slightly nervous about it beforehand because I knew I would be one of the few Caucasian people there. Turns out, I was probably just as comfortable around the people there as I would have been at a "Project Uplift" for Caucasians...

My wife just asked "Do you know that song?" and I said "Yeah that's "Let It Be". (It was an instrumental on that "spa" channel". I asked "Do you know what I"m downloading?" and she said "It better the be the Beatles 'cause that's what I want to listen to now" . I'm a marital prophet. Nicely. Sounds...

Re: LTE 2.0

Sorry, man. If you want to try and relieve the pressure under your toenail (lessens the pain, but you'll def'nly lose the nail), PM me and I'll tell you how. It involves a pin, fire, and some self-drilling. It really does help the pain though...removes the pressure and it feels much better but you ...

Re: LTE 2.0

I may have broken my toe last night. I'll probably lose my other big toe nail. :(( At least they'll match. I definitely jammed it bad enough that I'll be in pain for the next five weeks or so. I had to take my car to my parents late last night, and my battery was dead. I jumped it with the mini-van...

I'm planning on riding my bike to work tomorrow - 14 miles. I figure if I write it here, then I'll be more likely to remember, when I wake up tomorrow morning, that I told someone else my plan to ride my bike to work, and thus not bail out on it. I used to ride to work every single day in DC, for a...

Re: Bacone!

I admit, the geek in me loves that they've taken the concept of BarCamp and extended it to one of the world's greatest pleasures, Bacon. I may have to hit up BaconCamp Seattle. :D

Has anyone tried the Bacon Vodka yet? (I hear it makes for yummy Bloody Mary's.)
