We will have elections. The question is whether or not any non-MAGAt can win any of them. I'm sure we'll have a whole panoply of "voting security" laws on the books before then.

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2024 (19-5, 10-2 ACC)
Deammmmnnnn! DWBB slaughtered Miami in Cameron, 90-49. That's what happens when we play focused. Miami isn't a good team, but they are an ACC team, and that's a total beatdown. That might have been the best game we've played all year. We've had games where we've been better than that on offense. We...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2024 (17-5, 8-2 ACC)
Basketball is a lot harder when the defense only shows up for one quarter. I love Toby Fournier, but she was a matador last night. It probably didn't help that Reigan, our best perimeter defender, touch-fouled her way out of the lineup.

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2024 (17-4, 8-1 ACC)
Huge game tonight vs State at 7. Played in their small gym in Raleigh, the winner takes sole possession of 2nd place in the ACC. :wizard: The contest for the double-bye begins in earnest. For the most part, the teams at the top of the conference haven't played each other much. All five of them have...

It is worth noting that the freeze is still frozen, notwithstanding the injuction, and postdocs are not able to make timely rent payments.

Re: The Political Junkie Thread
WTF? A federal "freeze" on all federal grants and loans, announced late last night (as far as I can tell so far) and effective at 5:00 today? That's not even possible, but is also just a complete violation of law. I hope we get a court to issue an injunction immediately. Good lord, this man is evil....

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2024 (17-4, 8-1 ACC)
DWBB with the gritty road win over #18 GT today. I told Awhom in chat that I didn't see any single digit quarters after the first, but I was wrong, way wrong. We held them to only 5 in the 4th as we sealed the game up. Great defense. :happy-bouncyblue: With the win, Duke stays in 2nd place in the A...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2024 (13-4, 4-1 ACC)
Cameron was Domination Station. The most points that Cal notched for any quarter was 11, in the 1st and 4th. Statistically speaking, our defense was 45% better than the #1 defense in the country. We just dominated them on that end of the floor. We stole the ball 15 times! They shot 16.7% from three...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2024 (13-4, 4-1 ACC)
DWBB heads back to Durham from Charlottesville with an ACC win, but whoboy, it was bad. Took us until the last 5 minutes to finally get a lead. Lots to work on, especially shooting. (And especially layups, as seemingly always.) This seemed to be the first couple games where the dreaded "bunny bug" ...

This is some pretty funny stuff here. I couldn't bring myself to read more than page 1 but it's classic IC drivel: https://247sports.com/college/north-carolina/board/102714/contents/fire-hubert-243314435/?page=1 As of a moment ago, that's a 26-page thread, 649 posts, about firing the coach, and it'...

Re: Jim Larranaga--aaaaahhh, seeeeya!
Yeah, there's no way we get a quarterback commitment in two days with a rumored two-year deal without the parties having worked things out in advance. "Tampering" really isn't a thing anymore, because the NCAA knows it would be struck down as a restraint on trade. With multi-year deals happening, t...

Re: Jim Larranaga--aaaaahhh, seeeeya!
It’s pretty telling. I’d like to think we didn’t do that with our new QB, but the timing is somewhat telling. Yeah, there's no way we get a quarterback commitment in two days with a rumored two-year deal without the parties having worked things out in advance. "Tampering" really isn't a thing anymo...
