Re: The Political Junkie Thread

Get ready for some more Hakeem Jeffries Speaker nominations! =)) House Speaker Mike Johnson faces a tough fight to retain the gavel even after an endorsement from Donald Trump, a test of the president-elect’s influence over his party amid the limits of an extraordinarily narrow majority. https://ww...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

This tech worker H1B discussion between Vivek, Elon and MAGA is a thing of beauty. I’ll be captain obvious and say this. Yes America needs more tech workers but America also needs people that pick fruit that build houses. The problem Vivek and Trump have is that they have just convinced a whole grou...

The entirety of the last page of this thread has been nothing but insults and absolutely no substance. This is what happens when you engage with a troll. Word of advice, don't engage.
I tried to ignore it but two or three days of it was too much for me.

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

It’s not the truth at all. That “fat orange turd” is your President Elect. I’m sure overweight people don’t appreciate the fat shaming either 😉 Oh, and even though this is Trump’s last term, the movement has only begun. Haha. The movement dies when the fat orange turd goes either by death or end of...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

Lol. After years of being falsely accused of being a fascist, sexist, racist, and “threat to democracy”, it is reasonable for me to have some “anger issues”. You don’t get to just throw those words out and expect us (MAGA crowd) to not get angry, and to not want to take a victory lap after a huge w...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

If you want to go there, yes, MOST January 6th protesters deserve a pardon, and should get one. If they destroyed property or caused injury, they should serve their appropriate time (unlike the thugs from the 2020 “summer of love” riots) Any further questions from the minority? Speaking of do the c...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

Looks like Trump is really going to pardon the J6 rioters. I can’t get those images of the breaking of the glass, climbing through windows and attacking the police out of my head. How can anyone be ok with this? https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-promises-pardon-jan-6-rioters-day/story?id=116577...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

So, just to clarify, is it therefore your position that the Presidential pardon should not exist? I'm asking because that is the conclusion that follows from this line of reasoning. Oh, and how exactly does your position square with the previous pardon of Charles Kushner, and the probable impending...

He only chooses the best people! Okay, back to beg more popcorn before the next act of the show starts. Looks like Trump is already seeing the writing on the wall about Hegseth. He has a possible replacement. Ron DeSantis. I wonder if this would be a hire to fire? https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/d...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

Lord help me. I’m visiting my dad, who is currently watching Faux News. The disinformation is unbelievable. They’re talking about illegal immigrants now, and to hear them talk, the number of migrants is dropping because of Trump’s victory. Just one example. Lots of passive-aggressive talk about all...

Not sure what anyone else thinks but I love it! https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5016851-biden-pardons-his-son-hunter/ I 100% understand why he did it and don't fault him for it, but when Trump starts pardoning the January 6 crowd and the rest of his criminal fo...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

Final conversation with Dad, regarding the government jobs that Trump is planning to cut. One of them could realistically be my niece, who recently started a job with the FDIC (one of the agencies on the chopping block in Project 2025, for those keeping score at home). When he was blowing about all...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

I am a huge fan of Pete Buttigieg. Something I’ve wondered, though: would Hakeem Jeffries be a good candidate? I really like what I’ve heard from him. I like Hakeem too. I think he is a real smart politician but he just seems a bit wooden. I know that’s not a good reason why he couldn’t be a candid...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread

This is not a mandate! Any thoughts on the House? With the Trump appointees it seems the margin for at least a few months is going to be 217 to 215. That’s going to be tricky for Mega Mike.
