Duke's failure to show up in Raleigh bought them a trip back to the bubble, as expected.

Re: Duke Football 2024 - Diaz Dawning
Kickoff for the season is a Friday Nighter. Usually I'd be less than thrilled, but Labor Day Weekend is always an exception. (Actually, Julie will be happy since that's our anniversary weekend and now we get to spend at least two days of it together.) As announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread
Good news for democracy in NC. Some of the new changes to elections laws that Republican state lawmakers passed into law late last year are likely unconstitutional and should be blocked from going into effect, at least until problems with the system are fixed, a federal judge ruled over the weekend....

Re: The Political Junkie Thread
It's now officially a two man race*. Let's see how many GOP folks who shouted that Trump can't be POTUS again stick to their guns now that there are no other options within their party. (Short of legal convictions, and even then)

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (12-6) (4-3)
The box score will show that Duke shot almost 38% for the game, but in reality they shot under 30% for the first half and didn't improve much in the 3rd. By the time they did actually find the bottom of the net a few times, it was far too late. The only thing it did was turn the 25 point blowout int...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (12-5) (4-2)
For the first time in seemingly forever, Duke is moved off of the bubble in Creme's Bracketology, and up to a 9 seed. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/30423107/ncaa-women-bracketology-2024-women-college-basketball-projections Niiiiice! :9f: Well they are getting blown out by NCSU right ...

Re: Duke Basketball 2023 (13-4, 4-2) 7th AP (tie)
Ratfarts.
Gotta have Jeremy and Mark back. I was actually impressed with much of tonight not having 2/3 of our starters available.
I love Ryan. (Still laughing at him saving the out of bounds off of Pitt player's balls)

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (12-5) (4-2)
But even before the injury, we had held Amoore to 6 points on 2-of-8 shooting with no assists, and forced her into 4 TOs (in the amount of time she played, she "should" have scored 12 points and had four assists, against just 2 TOs). I don't think Tech is all that much closer, let alone wins that g...

DWBB with the blowout win over #14 Virginia Tech!
It started as ugly as ugly could be, with Duke down 13-1 at one point. By the 4th quarter, we had a 20 point lead.
Hell yeah!!

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (11-5) (3-2)
Duke has a tough game tonight against 14th ranked VT. At least it's at home where we've shown we shoot better. In other news, this tidbit about a Duke superstar. Best wishes to Jasmine as she embarks on her path to the next play! Former Duke women's basketball standout Jasmine Thomas announced her r...

Brandon Johnson is going to Oregon. Best of luck to him. We picked up an FCS All-American ILB from Princeton, Ozzie Nicholas, and a DL from Liberty, Kenny Charles. :9f: KenDy Charles was an All-Independent in '22. Re: Duke Football 2023 (8-5, 4-4 ACC) Birmingham Bowl Champions
Duke was 31 in the final Sagarin ratings: http://sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htm Suck on that, Mack! By the way, Mack spoke to media folks this week begging Carolina fans for more NIL money "so they can compete". UNC could do that, and maybe succeed, or they could toss Mack overboard and get a guy wh...

Re: Duke Football 2023 (8-5, 4-4 ACC) Birmingham Bowl Champions
In their "Final Rankings", CBS Sports puts Duke at 41. That's fair, but what makes this post worthy is they called Duke one of their "Biggest Movers". No. 41 Duke (+7) : The Blue Devils went 2-4 over their final six games after a 5-1 start, creating a slow slide down the rankings. Then, Mike Elko le...

Duke gets a B+ from USA Today in the grades they gave out to all FBS teams for this past season. FSU got an A+, Louisville got an A, State got an A-. Georgia Tech joined Duke with a B+. All of the other ACC teams finished with a B or lower. (Cheaters got a C+, way to go Mack!) https://www.usatoday.c...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (10-5) (2-2)
In garbage time, our new Beligian player, Louann Battiston, who arrived over the holidays, got some game time, and while her first shot in Cameron was an airball, she had two assists in just three minutes, including one very impressive bullet pass to the post. I don't think she ready to play Kara's...
