Re: DAMMMMIIITTTTTT!!!!!!
I am Asian, born and raised in Virginia. There are two levels on which I'm offended. First, if you look at the linked Chronicle article in the article posted http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/duke-kappa-sigma-party-ignites-firestorm-criticism , you'll see some pics from the party. It's one thing ...
Re: LTE 2.0
My ex ran off to San Antonio. I didn't know how big it is, she told me it's the 8th largest city in the country. Enjoy the barbecued beef DF! My son purchased a smoker like mine, does brisket in it and calls it BBQ. Told him that when I get down there I am going to teach San Antonio that BBQ comes ...

I ran it in the car this afternoon -- glad it's supposed to cool off again. I'm not ready for my 6 months of summer yet.YmoBeThere wrote:Mid-80's today here in South Central Texas. Others were running their air conditioners last night...

The hot weather is making me grumpy. It's January!!!
Then again, it's 3 dgr in Boston where my UNC sister-in-law is, so I shouldn't complain.

Re: Exercise!
Well 2 things have happened: 1) My mom told me I wasn't exercising enough and sent us a big check for Christmas to rectify that problem. 2) The other day, I went to lift my 30 lb daughter out of the shopping cart and had a hard time. So for the first time ever I've joined a gym and gotten a personal...

Re: Hurricane Sandy
I talked to my Mom in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is fine. The power is on. She doesn't live too close to any major bodies of water, so as long as her power stays on, she should be okay. :9f: :wizard: It isn't too bad here in Norfolk. Lots of rain with some wind, but nothing bad yet. I'm staying home...
Re: LTE 2.0
I lived in a not-swing state once. There, we were bombarded with ads about the various Propositions, and the gubernatorial recall election with fifty-eleven people running including a washed up former child actor who peddled short-term loans on television commercials, the former major league baseba...
Re: LTE 2.0
Since we don't watch TV and aren't in a swing state, we got nada. So there's that solution--move to a not swing state.CathyCA wrote:
If only my early voting would stop the mailings, telephone calls and the incessant television ads. . .
Re: LTE 2.0
My ballot was mailed in and received a week ago. FL ballot is VERY long with a metric shit ton of amendments. Since my ballot was received the phone calls and mailings have dropped off significantly! The night before we sent our ballots we got EIGHT phone calls about a candidate or ballot item. Now...
Re: LTE 2.0
Voted today. Short 20 min process.
Going to go sign refi papers now. Just little weird things.

Doing my part to keep the LTE up the queue:
Embarrassed my paper is so late, I made and agreement with my editor that if I don't have it to her by the end of the month, I'll fly her to visit me (she's a good friend).
I really would like to see her, but I'd like to keep my money more.

Re: LTE 2.0
My legal assistant has taken a new job. One of the local financial institutions offered her DOUBLE what we were paying. She has given us her two weeks' notice. I am happy for her and devastated for me. I interviewed my first candidate this afternoon. Sigh. :9f: I am so sorry. I know how much you en...

I may not make it to Nov. without smacking someone.
I'm not in a swing state and don't watch TV anyways and I still want to smack people--mostly on facebook.

Almost exactly a YEAR after we turned in our 2010 tax returns we got our refund and $380 in interest. No explanation, just a check. At this point we're just thrilled to have our money back in our hands. But really, it was miserable for a good six months getting the run around about what was happenin...
