Green Family “Tailgate” will be after the game. Today is mine and Flora’s 41st wedding anniversary. We are doing a seafood boil with shrimp, mussels, crabs, andouille sausage, potatoes and corn-on-the-cob.

Our tomatoes are the only thing in our garden producing. It’s been too dry for everything else. I’ll begin putting up tomatoes today. I’ll also make spaghetti sausages with them. I’ve done that in the past and loved the results.

Good morning. We came to the lake house Sunday. The water is way up. Our pontoon boat is about 75 feet from the shore. The water will have to drop before we can get to it. We haven’t seen anyone. We’re, of course, social distancing.

There is a freeze warning for Southeastern Virginia tonight. Frustrating! I will move plants in pots into my garage and/or storage shed but stuff in the ground will be difficult to protect.

We have frost this morning. I covered the herbs on the deck with fleece. Bud covered everything in the garden with shredded paper. I really hope the garden makes it. Especially the 24 tomato plants.

That’s beautiful Dink. Good morning. Today I’m going to make pickled asparagus. If I have time I’ll also make spaghetti sauce in my 16 quart pot. It will take several hours to cook. If I don’t have time to can it I’ll do it tomorrow. I’m hoping everyone has a good day.
