Chris - love the capture of the shadows and sunlight reflections. Beautiful job! Reminds of my Aunt's place down in Whiteville!

Chris, I think you should have a thread for your paintings--an online art gallery!

I love this painting.

Glad y'all like it. I'm starting the next one in the next couple days, it's the inside of Jake's house. His house is awesome, it was built in 18something.

Chris, I just checked out the galleries on your site and your work is really, really impressive. I am especially interested in your portraits. Do you do a lot of them or do you focus more on other things?

Thank you very much, and I love doing portraits. My next ones are going to be of the football team, I got permission from the athletics department to go down on the field during the spring game and take photos for just that reason. I want to capture the players in action, I've never done something like that before. Hopefully they turn out. As far as I'm concerned, even if I paint a house, like the porch above, it's still a portrait. I'm trying to capture the spirit of whatever it is I'm painting, it doesn't have to be an animate, living entity for that to happen. But it does have to have character.

Absolutely fabulous painting. Do you do "commissioned" work too? :)

Thanks, and most of the paintings I actually sell are commissions, and they are primarily portraits. I've got some pieces in a gallery, but I'm trying to restock my portfolio with newer works to show some galleries that aren't as local.

CB&B, once I have things in the house settled, will likely be looking to buy a print from you. :D

With a simple framing that I do myself, I'll probably price it about $600. The prints are a great option because I can get them done pretty inexpensively, and thus sell them for far less. Smaller paintings also go for less. The porch is pretty good sized, 22" X 20".
