Rest in Peace, James Armstrong

Those who have been around a while will remember that name. James was one of the originators of the DBR - he wrote the code for old 'approved posts' board back in the day. I was white listed on that and occasionally maintained a little of the code. I went to Duke with James - we camped out for the more than few games together (this was pre-Kville) and traveled to quite a few road games. He was a brilliant, and odd and sometimes something of an ass. He had a huge heart and a passion for fine food, travel, birding and of course Duke Basketball.
I had not seen him in years - he had been battling kidney disease and had JUST been listed for a transplant by Mayo clinic and U. of Nebraska. He had also finally found financial security and someone to love.
He passed away in his sleep this weekend.
He was also a raging atheists, so I will skip the usual and go with
Farwell Alpha Geek
ctrl-\ (in Unix this is SIGQUIT which ends a running job)
