You can't make this stuff up!

I think we need a thread for weirdness, legal and otherwise.

I'll start.

Watching a drug deal on video. Very clear video. Drug dealer is holding a baggie of pills in full view of the camera. Drug dealer's t-shirt reads, "Stupid is as stupid does."

How in the world do we continue to lose the war on drugs when those folks are all such idiots?! ;;)

Coworker Awbrey is prosecuting a man whose last name is Silver this afternoon. Anyone want to guess what his first name is?

If you guessed Sterling, go to the head of the class.

Sterling Silver.

Stories like this always remind me of some of the names of people I knew back in my home town. There was Lotta Grief for one. And Madden Looney for another. Honest. I knew them both. Mr. Looney was a very prominent man in the town, bless his heart.

Our firm has a web presence through Lawyers.com. Through that portal, people can send us an email asking us if we are interested in taking their case. Just a few minutes ago, this "personal injury" ( <----her words, not mine) inquiry came in to our in-box:

I was dating this guy I met online. His profile said he was divorced. Turns out he wasn't.. I told him before meeting him that I don't date married men or men who are separated. About a month later he came clean and said he was seperated. I told him that I was upset and wanted to take things slow.. I'd wait until his divorce was final. He asked if I would be returning to he dating website we met on. I told him no. I asked him the same and he said no..that he was happy.

So, what is her cause of action, and what are her damages? 8-}

I'm in Patrick County court this morning. A man was chewed out for driving on a suspended license. The judge told him he could give him a year in jail and a $2500 fine, but was only going to fine him $100. The man said, "Judge, thank you. Do you want a dog?" :-o
