Is the point to see how many words we can get with the letters above?
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

I was disappointed that Earl o' Jammeth didn't invent a word for this thread... yet. ;)

either "QE" or maybe it was "Qi". But the payoff from landing it is seriously worth the effort!

Bostondevil dropped the ball. She's hoping once she's run the marathon she'll get back to doing important stuff like running the Scramble tournament.

Crazietalk SCRABBLE Word of the Day

Post by Lavabe » April 17th, 2009, 6:39 am

Yesterday's Crazietalk SCRABBLE Word of the Day was:

DIASTEMA (11 base points): A space or gap between consecutive teeth.

As in:
The diastema between incisors in Anna Paquin's smile grabbed EarlJam's attention.

What will be the SCRABBLE word of the day today on Crazietalk? :geek: :ugeek: :-h

Crazietalk SCRABBLE Word of the Day

Post by Lavabe » April 18th, 2009, 5:11 pm

Yesterday's CrazieTalk SCRABBLE word of the day was:

SUPERNUMERARY
superfluous, beyond the normal number

as in:
Colchar and sue may be locked in a battle for who has more supernumerary molars.

NOTE: Originally, I spelled it supernumery. BAD Lavabe!! :p :ugeek:

Yesterday's CrazieTalk SCRABBLE word of the day is:

corset: See WD's former avatar.

The image of WD wearing a corset sparked poetry from several male CrazieTalk regulars.

Yesterday's CrazieTalk / SCRABBLE word of the day: wazir: a ruler, found in Persia.

Sample Sentence: Today I could not find the palace of Shammrog, the Wazir of Acworth. :ugeek:

Having waited a while to register, I have some catching up to do.

The other day, I played the word "quiz," with the z on a double letter and the whole thing on a triple word. This meant that I placed three letters and earned 96 points...a pretty darn good haul. I had long dreamed of playing the q and the z on the same triple word.

I have also now begun whooping Shammrog's butt in Facebook Scrabble. Anybody else want some?

Yes. I am Wilson's Scrabble bitch. But only because he was too much of a chicken shit to keep playing WordTwist.

(And, I haven't played Scrabble in at least 25 years. If ever.)

You sure you want to bring that up? Because I beat you 4 out of 5 times we play WordTwist, too.
By the way, I finished those five games you were waiting on earlier this week, and won all of them.

Yesterday's CrazieTalk / SCRABBLE word of the day: kumquat: a small, grape-sized, orange-like fruit. ALTERNATE DEFINITION: A crazie-talk code word that refers to the one we enthusiastically left.

Sample Sentence: Today I posted on kumquat that I don't particularly like kumquat marmalade. :geek:
