Job Vibes Request
I am applying for a job, within Duke, that I am on the cusp (in my mind) of being qualified for. This job is exactly what I want to do and what I am going to school for, to teach doctors how to teach. Please throw a few vibes my way, if you some to spare. I suspect this is going to be a long process, even if I end up being their #1 candidate.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Best of luck to you, Tilly! I cannot think of anyone more deserving. Hopefully the powers-that-be will be as discerning as your CTN friends are.TillyGalore wrote:I am applying for a job, within Duke, that I am on the cusp (in my mind) of being qualified for. I'm curious about the position, and even if you don't get it, what it is you are looking to do. I bet you would enjoy a conversation with my dad; teaching people how to teach has always been one of his objectives, as well as teaching medical students how to learn.
Best of vibes to you, I hope you get it!

Thank you, everyone, for the vibes. I am tweaking my cover letter, it's already a full page so I need to find a way to cut it down a little, plus I don't like the paragraph comparing what they want and what I have done. I hope to submit my application tomorrow.

If you haven't already seen this, I'm sure it's in the Duke Medical library. In 2008, the 100th anniversary of Dr. Eugene Stead's birth, a symposium was held to discuss learning and teaching medicine. Chris' dad wrote and presented Brain Sorting in the 21st Century. My dad moderated and I got to play "Oprah" by carrying the mic around for comments by the audience. It was such a cool thing to try to absorb all the knowledge and wisdom in that room. It was freaking exhilarating.

You can pick my dad's brain about his and Dr. Stead's ideas at a FB game. Here's the essay.TillyGalore wrote:DPA, thank you for the link.
