Re: Duke vs Georgia Tech

To quote Olivia Manning, "I have seen one or two football games." There are not many as satisfying as the win over GA Tech today. The defense was dominant, dominant over an opponent known for decades for stout defenses and difficult offensive schemes. The offense showed flashes of the potential that...

Re: Duke vs Georgia Tech

Aside from whatever effect a couple of days of rain may have on how the game is played, I think one of the big keys will be how quickly Thomas can get into a good rhythm and connect in a timely way with all aspects of offensive play. The stiff competition on the field last week and this week is push...

Re: Duke vs NCCU, Sept 12, 6 pm

One part of the program to look forward to will be the NCCU band. If rain doesn't interfere, the halftime shows performed by both bands will be very entertaining. ;;) If you want to donate to the annual Duke marching band fundraiser, there will be a jar for those donations at Tent #1. The money will...

I'll add one more thing. I learned that I was mispronouncing the name of our opponent. People here say TU-lane with the accent on the first syllable. ;;)

Re: Duke at Tulane game discussion

A minor monsoon has set in. Heavy thunderstorms expected this afternoon. That line of storms will move on prior to when the team will be in their approach for landing. Tomorrow will be be much better with less rain likely. By game time it may even be clear, though widely scattered thunderstorms are ...

Re: Duke at Tulane game discussion

Expect crowds in New Orleans during the coming week. The Southern Decadence Festival is September 2-7. There is also a local festival running at one of the city parks.....Louisiana Seafood Festival, September 4-6 at City Park Festival Grounds. While the chances of rain on game day have declined some...

The current forecast on weather.com predicts a 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms on game night. ;;)

Good rain gear may be needed.

Re: Duke at Tulane game discussion

Anyone planning to visit New Orleans in August or September must consider that there may be a lot of rain. I've been following the forecasts for a while and note that predicted high temperatures in the upper 90s accompanied by high humidity keep popping in and out of the updated forecasts. Thunderst...

Re: 2016 Recruiting

Twitterverse rumors are heating up that 4* DB Dylan Singleton (Deondre's brother) could be headed to Duke. It appears a DB de-committed from Alabama because he is interested in Georgia. This will push Singleton to Durham. Let the dominoes fall... That would surely make it easier for their momma! ;;)

We sit in section 27. Is that part of the west side of the stadium? I'm hoping for those blue chairs so that I don't need to haul around our stadium seats this fall. :9f: As I recall, Section 27 is considered to be one of the sections in the west side slated for new seats, but not this coming year....
