Re: I've decided to buy myself a new t-shirt.
Well, I just got an e-mail offering 20% off at 80stees.com, the site that sells the three t-shirts I posted earlier in this thread. The offer expires on the 15th, so I gotta order soon.

Re: College Courses You Wish You Had Taken
There was an English class all on Tolkien at Duke that I hate to have missed out on, and I have said a number of times that I should have taken a Psychology course. I did, however, wake up at 6 a.m. on registration day so I could get into Intro to Creative Writing in my last semester as an undergrad...

26, to be exact...that's not that young, is it?Bostondevil wrote:Game theory at TIP in 1998? Oh you are young aren't you? Don't answer that.
If it makes you feel any better, I'll be 27 soon.

Hmmm, were pirates a problem? By the 1730s, Atlantic piracy had actually more or less died out...that golden age lasted from the extreme late 1600s through 1720 or so. Actually, in the early decades of English presence in South Carolina, pirates were rather important trading partners for some peopl...

That's fantastic, and it has a special place in my heart, as I took Game Theory at TIP in 1998.Bostondevil wrote:My oldest son has one that he got at TIP last summer - Game Theory - The theory of games. He wears it all the time.
Re: LTE 2.0
Oh yeah, hey wilson, what are you studying? What's your dissertation topic? I study early America, with a heavy bent toward Atlantic history (though I'm still trying to avoid totally hitching my wagon to that trend). My dissertation will be about intercolonial commerce through the port of Charlesto...

Y'all really need to make up your minds. You've got two completely contradictory narratives here (1) The moderation at DBR is too laissez-faire, because the signal-to-noise ratio is heavily in favor of noise. (2) The moderators are a bunch of controlling, heartless monsters who freebase Bangladeshi...

I'm a huge fan of Risk. We used to have Risk parties in college, they were huge. I would like to start this up again. Just gotta make EJ and wilson drive to Charlotte. :D I also enjoy Monopoly, Clue, Whodonit, Scattegories, and Cranium. There's another game, whose name I can't remember, where one p...

Congrats indeed, CB&B. I don't know squat about any of this (yet...someday, when I become a rockstar historian, I'll have a book agent...), so I'll just content myself with listening and rooting you on from over here.

There are several good ones on here, to which I would like to add Mouse Trap . Mouse Trap always looked super duper cool to me, but my family never had it. Every time I asked a friend who did have it if we could play, they'd always tell me it wasn't worth the trouble of putting it all together, so ...

I've said for quite some time that if I ever won the super duper lottery or somehow otherwise got (read: "married") really, really rich, I'd definitely go into space. That's the one thing in life that I really dream of doing that I'm more or less certain I'll never get to do.
