Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (17-9) (9-6)
Despite a gawd awful 27 turnovers, Duke beat the snot out of #17 Syracuse on the road, 58-45. At one point the lead was 20. :D :happy-bouncyblue: We CLOBBERED them on the glass. Syracuse came into the game as the 4th-best offensive rebounding team in the entire country, rebounding more than 40% of ...

Re: Duke Basketball 2023 (21-5, 12-3) 9th AP
Yeah, that one was fun to watch. They were shorthanded, but we did what good teams are supposed to do and made them feel the absences. I loved that there was no clear "best player" in the game. Everybody did something good yesterday.

So will the Alabama Supreme Court also make IUDs and the morning after pill illegal in Alabama?

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (16-9) (8-6)
DWBB played a very good half of basketball against Notre Dame tonight. And then they didn't. :(( Turnovers just kill against a good team. 8 TOs in the third, leading to 12 Notre Dame points. Also 10 fastbreak points allowed, at least four of them not off turnovers, but off forced shots in 1-on-3 si...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (16-8) (8-5)
Almost a miracle. We had real trouble shooting the ball again, but our defense kept us in it. I'm really proud of this team, and if we can play like that on the opponent's home floor, then we are criminally underrated by those who do tournament seeding. That was a really good game.

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (16-7) (8-4)
This will do a ton for the resume if we can pull off a miracle sweep. Unfortunately, I think it's going to take close to a miracle to pull this off. Just like last year, I think they are going to be HIGHLY motivated and they've already laid significant groundwork in massaging the officials. We are g...

Re: WE'RE BACK!!!!!
Great to see! Many thanks, Chris, for doing what it takes to keep it all together, with a huge assist to the tech guy. And a little shoutout to @devildeac for letting me know it's all back.

Re: Duke Basketball 2023 (16-5, 7-3) 7th AP
That was very frustrating. I think I yelled every time I saw Mitchel sag to help, leaving Ingram wide open anywhere from mid-range to three. Sag off Cadeau if you must, but not Ingram.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2024, 9:03 pmIngram is going to be in this team's nightmares tonight.

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (13-6) (5-3)
I don't give a fig about Charlie Creme, but last night's win was a thing of absolute beauty. That's probably the best defensive performance I've ever seen from a Duke women's team, period. They are a really, really good offensive team. We had them utterly demoralized.

Re: The Political Junkie Thread
Our only real path forward is if Biden wins so decisively that it cannot be argued. Even then, I don’t trust that buffoon to NOT cook up some elaborate conspiracy theory about how Biden stole the election from him. MAGAites believe that garbage, and they cannot be reasoned with. I say this from per...

Re: The Political Junkie Thread
Maybe it's just the particular places I've listened to recently (and I cop to watching mostly left-leaning sources), but it sure seems to me like there have been a lot of Democratic pundits who are talking about Trump's support being over-estimated this year, and how, since he's "basically running a...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (12-6) (4-3)
The box score will show that Duke shot almost 38% for the game, but in reality they shot under 30% for the first half and didn't improve much in the 3rd. By the time they did actually find the bottom of the net a few times, it was far too late. The only thing it did was turn the 25 point blowout in...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (12-5) (4-2)
Yeah, that was about as impressive a comeback win as you could ask for. I think closing the gap before the half gave us the confidence we needed to give them that third quarter swarm. Our defense in this game was absolutely incredible. They were averaging 80 points per game on offense, and we held t...

Re: Duke Women's Basketball 2023 (10-5) (2-2)
We put an absolute shellacking on Georgia Tech this afternoon, clobbering them 84-46. In garbage time, our new Beligian player, Louann Battiston, who arrived over the holidays, got some game time, and while her first shot in Cameron was an airball, she had two assists in just three minutes, includin...
